We know choosing the right hay bell means thinking about size, durability, and long-term value. So we’ve laid out every detail here, along with honest answers to the questions horse owners ask most before buying a feeder like this one.

Why Choose the Kebel Hay Bell?

Kebel designed this hay bell for owners who need a serious, long-term feeding solution for paddocks and meadows. With 5 openings, multiple horses can feed at once without crowding around a single access point, which reduces competition and stress at feeding time. The generous dimensions also mean you won’t need to refill it constantly, saving you time on daily barn chores.

Will This Hay Bell Fit My Round Bales?

Sizing is often the first thing buyers check, and this model handles it well. With an inner diameter of 160 cm, this hay bell accommodates most standard round bales without needing to trim or reshape them before loading. The 185 cm outer diameter and 164 cm height give the structure enough room to hold a full bale securely while still allowing horses comfortable access from multiple sides.

Can Several Horses Feed at the Same Time?

Yes, and this is where the 5 openings make a real difference. Instead of one horse dominating access and pushing others away, multiple horses can feed simultaneously from different points around the bell. This reduces herd tension at feeding time and helps ensure that lower-ranking horses in a group still get fair access to hay.

How Well Does It Hold Up in Bad Weather?

This is a common concern for anyone leaving equipment outdoors year-round, and this hay bell was built specifically for that challenge. The UV-resistant plastic prevents the material from degrading or becoming brittle under constant sun exposure, while the frost-resistant construction means cold winter temperatures won’t cause cracking. On top of that, the highly impact-resistant plastic stands up to bumps from curious or boisterous horses without denting or breaking.

Do I Need to Buy a Net Separately?

No, and that’s one of the added perks of this listing. This Kebel Hay Bell comes with a free net included, which helps control hay consumption and further reduces waste. You won’t need to search for a compatible net size or spend extra money to get your feeder fully functional from day one.

Is This Hay Bell Easy to Set Up and Use?

Once positioned in your paddock or meadow, this hay bell requires minimal setup. Simply load the round bale through the top and let your horses access it through the 5 side openings. Its sturdy, one-piece plastic design means there are no complicated parts to assemble, making it a practical choice even for owners managing feeding across multiple turnout areas.
